ATLAS-N Project

VR simulation of an Earth-based Satellite Constellation

Project Details:

This project is an ongoing effort to assess the high-consequence attacks and evolution of mitigation strategies for adversarial threats to typical satellite mega-constellations. This is a project developed in collaboration with the CSSE department at Auburn University. As part of the initial work for this project, I developed a satellite constellation simulator in Python that can compute the desired figures-of-merit to assess the health of the constellation as a whole. The initial efforts were directed toward developing a coevolutionary computational game based on FlipIt game model. This modeling effort resulted in identifying that the real-world threats can indeed be modeled using computational game theory. The efforts are continuing to identify a larger variety of threats and corresponding mitigation strategies using computational game theory and accurate modeling of satellite constellation evolution.
